The Ham has a unique character which owes less to the individual merit of any specific building, and more to the materials, texture and history of the local area.
We took inspiration from the wide variety of industrial buildings that have been in this area over the past century to identify common elements, including:
Simple, functional buildings
Legible structure
Undecorated, showing evidence of construction
Plain materials, readily available
